Do you offer virtual therapy?

Yes! We offer both in-person and secure virtual therapy appointments for clients located in Delaware. Virtual therapy allows you to meet with your therapist from the comfort and privacy of your home or another confidential location using a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Many clients find virtual therapy to be a convenient and effective option that fits more easily into their busy schedules.

What insurance do you accept?

We are in-network with many major insurance plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Highmark Health Options, Amerihealth Caritas, and Aetna. We do not currently accept Medicare or United Health Care. Our administrative team will be happy to verify your benefits and explain any copays, deductibles, or out-of-pocket costs prior to your first appointment. We also offer self-pay options for clients who prefer not to use insurance or whose plans are out of network and reduced cost-sessions with our Graduate Intern.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. Our therapists provide psychotherapy and counseling services but do not prescribe medication. If medication may be helpful, we can collaborate with your primary care provider or refer you to a psychiatrist or other qualified medical provider for an evaluation.

How do I choose a therapist?

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the therapeutic process. Our clinicians have diverse backgrounds, specialties, and treatment approaches, allowing us to match you with someone who best fits your needs and preferences. When you contact our office, we'll ask about the concerns you'd like to address, your scheduling preferences, whether you'd like virtual or in-person sessions, and any therapist preferences you may have. If you're unsure who would be the best fit, we're happy to provide personalized recommendations.

What if I'm not sure who to see?

That's completely okay—and very common. You don't need to know exactly which therapist is right for you before reaching out. Our team is happy to help match you with a clinician based on your concerns, goals, scheduling needs, insurance, and personal preferences. If your needs change over time, we'll work with you to ensure you're receiving care from the provider who is the best fit for your journey.

If you're ready to get started, simply contact our office, and we'll guide you through the process from there.

What happens during the first session?

Your first session is an opportunity for you and your therapist to get to know one another in a comfortable, supportive environment. Together, you'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your personal history, current concerns, and what you hope to achieve through counseling. Your therapist may ask questions about your emotional, physical, and social well-being to better understand your unique experiences. You'll also have time to ask questions about the therapy process and work collaboratively to begin developing goals for treatment. There is no pressure to share everything at once—therapy moves at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

How long are sessions?

Most therapy sessions are approximately 53–60 minutes in length. The frequency of therapy varies based on your needs, goals, and schedule, and your therapist will work with you to determine a plan that best supports your progress.
